Gary Leatherman

Gary Leatherman, the owner and founder of macMonkey Digital Studios. has been developing broadcast television, interactive exhibits, and web-based media for over 20 years. He brings extensive informal science education and museum experience with his years creating national science television for PBS and award-winning informal science education interactive software. He has vast experience working with museums, science centers, and museum and science center education partners.

A former television producer with the Emmy award-winning PBS science series “Newton’s Apple”, Gary was also the Supervising Producer and Creative Director for “DragonflyTV: GPS” – PBS’s groundbreaking middle-school science television series. Gary’s creative work and his excellent staff on “DragonflyTV – GPS” were honored with two National Emmy Awards in 2008. He was also a consultant in the development of both PBS television series SciGirls and Make:TV.

He has been a producer and project lead on many media productions, producing successful interactive projects for clients such as Science Museum of Minnesota, Ameriprise, United Airlines, The Learning Company, 3M, Honeywell, and the Mayo Clinic. His company macMonkey Digital Studios has developed engaging digital interactive experiences for such notable locations as the Minnesota Historical Society, Louisiana Children’s Museum, Cascade Meadow Science Center, and Yellowstone National Park Foundation.
